If your doctor has diagnosed you with scabies he will prescribe
cream for scabies which contain crotamiton and permithren. You need to put these medications on the skin and leave it there for typically about 8 hours as prescribed by your doctor. These medicines would penetrate deep into the skin and kill the underlying scabies and their eggs. However, in all this process, the itching of the skin still exists.
Such post-treatment burning and itching is normal as the residual fecal material left over by the mites would continue to trigger a rash or an allergic condition. Such itching would continue to exist for a week after the treatment is completed.
A calamine lotion is all you need to treat the itching that is caused by the post-treatment. Applying such a lotion to the affected parts would reduce the symptoms of scabies. You can also try traditional
scabies treatment like soaking affected parts in cool water or using a cloth to dampen your skin. Depending on the severity of your scabies condition, you may also try using some of the readily available drugs containing antihistamine, so as to subside the redness and itching caused. In severe cases, where scabies may have spread all over, antibiotic drugs may be recommended.
Regarding natural medications, it would be optimal if you applied tea tree oil to the parts which were affected in order to lessen scabies effects. It creates a soothing effect on the skin and restricts the spread of scabies on the other parts of the body.
